Chris Haye into the dynamic racing environment in Assetto Corsa Competizione ahead of the third round of the SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship at the German Nurburgring circuit.
This is what the RaceDepartment intro said:
“This week Chris Haye digs deep into the wondrous workings of an evolving racing environment, as we build up to the third round of the SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship at the German Nurburgring circuit. Driving a racing car in competition is more than just the art of driving a racing car in competition.
“Sounds silly, doesn’t it? But in reality, as in the virtual world, the physical aspect of handling your machine around the circuit faster than any other driver is only part of the challenge.
“As the quality of today’s racing simulators draws increasingly close to the real-life in which they attempt to mimic, virtual drivers have to contend with such real-world variables as track progression, rubbering in racing lines (and the marbles that often follow hand-in-hand), an ever-changing balance within the car, tyre wear, fuel usage, understeer, oversteer and about a million other things that have to be filtered into the equation.”
