How Alonso won the virtual Indy 500 on his debut

  • by

Formula 1 world champions and former McLaren team-mates Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button fought it out for victory in the first of the Legends Trophy races in The Race All-Star Series on the Indianapolis oval on the originally-planned weekend of the 2020 Indy 500.

Online sim racing debutant Alonso, who led the 2017 Indy 500 in real life then failed to qualify on his return 2019, came out on top against Button, who said he would never race on an oval in real life but got to take his Brawn-GP livery to the Speedway in virtual form, by Factor 2 as part of his Legends Trophy title bid. In the video, see how their fight played out in a tense battle all the way to the finish!
